The Claims Account Manager processes medical, dental, and vision claims for their assigned clients. Occasionally, they may be requested to help other team members process claims when someone is out of the office. This job requires an employee to be familiar with keyboarding since our company standard of processing claims is to have them entered into the computer within five days of receipt. This position is also responsible for taking phone calls and responding to emails and faxes concerning their group's claims. Claims Account Managers work together in teams, so it is often necessary to assist other Account Managers with phone calls regarding their groups during lunches, vacations, etc. Therefore, this essential team support requires the employee to work inside the office. This position requires excellent customer service skills. This position is much more than data entry, although that is a large part of the position. This job requires knowledge of the client's plan and their requirements regarding the benefits. A claim can be a routine claim with a simple application of a payment code, or it can be a complex scenario requiring additional records, forms, professional review, etc. before completion and payment rendered. As with any job, there may be other tasks assigned when necessary. Job Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D.; some college helpful but not required. Polite, courteous, and professional phone skills. Excellent attendance. Excellent customer service and a desire to exceed customer expectations. Familiarity with word processing programs, Microsoft Outlook, and working knowledge of WLT is helpful. Good organizational skills. Self-motivated and self-starter. Willingness to learn. Essential Functions Attention to detail, data entry, and excellent phone skills are critical components of this job.
