Sales Engineer

This role is a balance of account management and new business development within the Midwest sales and service team. The company sells and services premium machine tools. This role involves servicing an established customer base while proactively hunting for new opportunities in a consultative, technical sales environment with long sales cycles. Responsibilities Manage and grow an established base of accounts, focusing on relationship-building and repeat business. Prospect and develop new business through cold calling, in-person visits, and targeted hunting (roughly 50/50 split between existing accounts and new client development). Conduct consultative sales of high-value machine tools and related capital equipment to OEMs and job/machine shops. Travel throughout the territory to meet with customers, demonstrate products, and close sales. Requirements 3-5 years of proven sales experience in the manufacturing industry, ideally selling capital equipment or related technical products Experience selling into manufacturing environments, specifically to OEMs and job/machine shops that machine parts. Strong hunter mentality with comfort in proactive prospecting, cold calling, and in-person customer visits. Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand technical products and navigate long sales cycles. Preferred Requirements Familiarity with Salesforce CRM. Background in technical or service roles within manufacturing Commission : 10-12% of adjusted gross profit On‑Target Earnings (OTE) : $130,000–$150,000 in year one; top performers can exceed $200,000+.
