Your primary duty will be to pick-up/deliver cargo to/from specified locations, adhere to traffic laws and regulations, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities Drive trucks ranging from light to heavy vehicles, depending on the cargo and distance of transportation. Load and unload cargo onto trucks, ensuring proper distribution and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit. Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road closures, and weather conditions. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations, including speed limits, weight limits, and hours of service regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries made. Handle paperwork such as delivery receipts, bills of lading, and shipping documents. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions with the vehicle to maintenance personnel and follow company procedures for maintenance and repairs. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers and the public. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and proper handling of cargo. Maintain a clean and organized truck and cargo area. Qualifications DOT Card Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents. Proven experience as a truck driver or in a similar role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry. Strong understanding of traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures. Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and strength to handle loading and unloading of cargo. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in truck driving is a plus. Working Conditions The job requires sitting for extended periods and may involve lifting and carrying heavy objects. Drivers may be exposed to various weather conditions and must be prepared to operate vehicles in challenging environments.
