LICENSING SUPERVISOR - CHILD CARE (Ref: 60024755) Requisition No: 876601 • Agency: Children and Families • Working Title: Licensing Supervisor – Child Care* Location: Miami, FL (Alachua, FL alternative). Working hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. *Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy. Roles & Responsibilities Review licensure studies for new and existing childcare facilities to ensure compliance with required information and standards before license issuance. Ensure compliance with required inspections, reviewing and archiving reports within the mandated time frames. Process all provisional, probationary, and renewal licenses on time and monitor administrative reports to prevent overdue licenses. Ensure staff complete required re-inspections for facilities cited as out of compliance using administrative reports. Review case files and administrative reports/master lists for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to Department guidelines. Maintain up‑to‑date records of policies, regulations, and data integrity, including updates to the CARES system. Log, document, and follow up on complaint/incident reports and enforce actions in accordance with Florida Administrative Code. Provide technical assistance to childcare providers and the public through trainings, phone contacts, and written guidelines. Supervise a unit of six Counseling staff, managing a caseload of 100–110 childcare facilities/homes. Complete leave and attendance for self and supervised staff; maintain attendance logs and time sheets. Obtain required inspections from other Departments/Agencies and respond to special assignments. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university. Experience: 3+ years in the childcare industry. Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable private vehicle for work duties. Must pass fingerprint and background screening. Child Care pre‑service training and certification credentials required. Knowledge of Florida statutes 402 & 435, Administrative Code 65C‑20, 65C‑22, 65C‑25. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data, develop policies, and evaluate program effectiveness. Skill in child protection, counseling, investigations, and family assessment. Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments. Proficiency with computer systems and case management software. Required Screening and Conditions Background screening in accordance with Florida law; must be cleared before employment. Participation in State Direct Deposit Program required.
