Security Analyst

Security AnalystThe Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring the security of the organization's IT infrastructure and systems, as well as providing cybersecurity services to managed service provider (MSP) clients. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats, implementing security measures, and advising on best practices to mitigate risks.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesHelp conduct security assessments and audits of IT systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.Monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, including Email Compromises, Malware detections, and other alerts.Implement and manage security tools and technologies, such as Email Security, Managed Detection and Response, and Endpoint Protection.Provide security awareness training and education to employees and clients to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices.Generate monthly reports for clients and confirm the implementation of security controls/policies.Assist with client-facing security assessments, presentations, and consultations as needed.Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities in accordance with established procedures.Following a breach or compromise, recommend and implement controls to prevent future incidents and assist in performing risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to assess security requirements, design security solutions, and support the implementation of security controls.Stay current with cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve security posture and response capabilities.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.1+ year of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a focus on security engineering and operations.Experience with security technologies and toolsKnowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and standardsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess and respond to security incidents.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Continuous learning mindset, with a desire to stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices.Strong communication skills, capable of engaging in client-facing meetings, conversations, and presentations.
