Guard the performance of precision tooling that powers world-class eyewear manufacturing. Your expertise keeps molds running, parts in spec, and lines productive.

• Execute preventive maintenance, complete minor repairs, and visually assess mold condition.
• Read/interpret tooling prints; follow technical instructions with accuracy.
• Disassemble/reassemble molds safely and on time.
• Clean molds and partner with Maintenance Technicians as needed.
• Own your schedule; meet deadlines reliably.
• Maintain a spotless, organized work area.
• Measure with precision: micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore micrometers.
• Support inventory monitoring to sustain reasonable component stock levels.
• Attack downtime—find root causes and correct fast.
• Service and clean toolroom machinery daily; care for tools and equipment.
• Document work in CMMS; help maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Operate independently when direction is provided.
• Partner with Process Engineers to resolve tooling issues and drive improvements.
• Go to the press when needed—diagnose and correct issues in the machine to minimize stoppages.
• Hold tight tolerances: surface grinding to ±0.0002 on critical details.
• Machine on a Bridgeport/lathe within ±0.001.
• Apply knowledge of manifold/hot runner systems (Mold-Masters, Synventive, etc.).
• Polish, bench, fit, and spot in new details.
• Troubleshoot and repair tooling issues end to end.
• “Other duties as assigned” mindset—stepping in where needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in a toolroom focused on plastic injection mold repair or maintenance.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach; shares knowledge and ideas.
• Working knowledge of mold/die components and their behavior.
• Ability to read tooling drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Competent with basic computer tasks.
• Eager to learn and adopt new technologies.
• Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Self-starter with proactive work habits.
• Willing to work beyond 8 hours/day, plus weekends/holidays as needed.

• Toolmaking certificate in die casting or plastic injection molding.
• 5–8 years of hands-on plastic injection mold maintenance/repair.
• 3–5 years on hand-operated toolroom equipment; SAP or other CMMS; prototype toolmaking.
• Experience with injection molding processes.
• Toolmaker/Mold Maker Journeyman status (preferred).
• Trade school or college background.
• Possess or can obtain required personal hand tools.
