Corporate Vice President - Lead Engineer - DevOps and Integrations

We build solutions that power how we serve policy owners, agents, advisors and employees while delivering measurable business outcomes.Across technology, data, AI, cyber, product, digital experience, architecture and infrastructure, TDAV combines the scale and investment of an industry leader, access to leading-edge technologies and the opportunity to help shape how a world-class financial services company competes in the AI era - all backed by the stability and purpose of a mutual company built to last.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior / Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership across enterprise integrations, DevOps, cloud platforms, APIs, and backend applications.This is a senior hands-on role combining solution architecture, integration engineering, software development, DevOps, troubleshooting, and cross-team technical leadership. Approximately 10–20% of the role will involve hands-on coding.The ideal candidate has broad technical depth, strong ownership, and the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies. AI-assisted engineering is a major part of how we work and is a core requirement for this role.What You'll Do:· Define architecture and technical solutions for integrations between corporate systems, AWS services, SaaS platforms, and external vendors.· Provide technical leadership through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.· Develop, review, and troubleshoot Java backend applications using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Maven.· Design and troubleshoot AWS solutions using API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3, ALB/NLB, Route 53, IAM, Secrets Manager, and ACM.· Lead API and enterprise integration design, including authentication, connectivity, data flows, error handling, and operational considerations.· Communicate API and integration changes to affected teams in advance and coordinate readiness and migration activities.· Maintain working knowledge of MuleSoft as an API proxy layer, including log review, request tracing, debugging, and troubleshooting.· Support Salesforce integrations from an API, authentication, connectivity, and troubleshooting perspective.· Work with corporate SSO and security teams and maintain strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, and mTLS.· Own or coordinate certificate lifecycle management, including renewals, rotation, expiration prevention, and troubleshooting.· Apply working knowledge of DNS, load balancers, TLS, networking, secure connectivity, and basic SFTP/file integrations.· Support Twilio from an enterprise integration and platform perspective, including account/user management, API understanding, troubleshooting, and vendor support tickets.· Provide senior technical escalation and take ownership of complex or high-impact incidents when required.· Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership. Formal people management experience is a plus but is not required.DevOpsStrong DevOps experience is required, including:· Harness· Jenkins· GitHub· Docker· Terraform· CI/CD pipelines· Build, deployment, and release troubleshootingAI-Assisted EngineeringAI engineering proficiency is a core requirement and will be evaluated during the interview process.Candidates must demonstrate practical use of modern AI coding agents, such as Claude Code or equivalent, for:· Software development and refactoring· Code review· Debugging and root-cause analysis· Understanding unfamiliar codebases· Technical documentation· Engineering automation· Reusable skills and agent workflows· Model Context Protocol (MCP)Candidates should be able to demonstrate how AI is incorporated into their everyday engineering workflow, not simply familiarity with general-purpose AI tools.What You'll Bring:· 8+ years of software engineering, integration engineering, or related experience.· Strong Java backend development experience with Spring Boot, REST, and Maven.· Ability to independently develop, review, debug, and troubleshoot production applications.· Experience defining solution architecture and leading enterprise integrations.· Strong AWS architecture and engineering knowledge.· Strong API and REST integration experience.· Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience.· Experience with authentication and secure integration patterns including OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, and mTLS.· Experience with certificates and certificate lifecycle management.· Working knowledge of networking, DNS, load balancing, and secure connectivity.· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple technologies.· Strong written and verbal communication skills.· Demonstrated proficiency with AI coding agents, MCP, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.· Ability to mentor and technically lead other engineers.Preferred / Working KnowledgeExperience in all of the following is valuable but not required:· MuleSoft· Salesforce integrations· Twilio· SFTP/file integrations· AWS certifications· Formal people managementLearning & AdaptabilityWe do not expect candidates to already be experts in every technology used by the team.Technology changes continuously, and learning is part of our everyday work. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
