Job Summary
Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting. Deliver care that aligns with professional nursing standards and ethical guidelines, fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes safety and quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs.
- Apply specialized clinical knowledge to make informed patient care assignments based on acuity and technical requirements.
- Engage in continuous learning and apply evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and workplace efficiency.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, integrity, empathy, and collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their educational programs.
- Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and proactive error reduction strategies.
- Commit to professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, and advanced education.
- Foster teamwork by motivating colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentorship and constructive feedback.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent with at least five years of acute care experience if from a non-accredited program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated advanced degree programs is accepted.
- Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Licensure and Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.
Work Shift: 2nd Shift, full-time, 36 hours per week.
This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
