RN - Surgery Unit Night Shift

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care within a supportive environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, and regulatory requirements. The position supports acute care departments including surgery units, medical units, emergency departments, intensive care, childbirth centers, pediatric units, operating rooms, and specialized procedural areas.

Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives. Stay current with product and practice changes through ongoing education, applying knowledge to promote cost-effective care. Utilize clinical expertise to make appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs. Demonstrate commitment to workplace improvement and evidence-based practice. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage. Communicate proactively to manage expectations and ensure positive patient experiences through rounding, timely responses, and service recovery. Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, managing electronic device use, and supporting healthcare students and their programs. Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, Just Culture principles, and reporting systems. Graduate of an accredited nursing program, or alternatively, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience if from a non-accredited program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable. Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications as required. Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state.

Night shift (4th shift), full-time, 36 hours weekly.
