Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered respiratory care in a setting that embraces best practices and relationship-based care. Uphold professional respiratory care standards guided by the AARC Code of Ethics, regional respiratory care regulations, and evidence-based protocols. Demonstrate expertise in respiratory therapy assessments, treatment modalities, life support certifications, critical thinking, and prioritization. Essential Responsibilities:

Assessment:

• Conduct comprehensive, age-specific assessments and reassessments.
• Collaborate with family members, significant others, and healthcare providers to gather complete medical histories.
• Document assessment findings in accordance with unit policies.

Diagnosis:

• Identify actual or potential physical, psychosocial, cultural, religious, safety, infection control, environmental, and educational needs.
• Prioritize patient care based on assessment results.
• Interpret findings to prepare patient and family care and education plans.

Planning/Outcome:

• Work with healthcare team members to develop and adjust individualized care and discharge plans.
• Create care and education plans aligned with standards of practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Revise plans based on patient condition changes and input from patients and families.

Implementation:

• Deliver age-appropriate care according to established plans and patient priorities.
• Apply evidence-based interventions tailored to diagnoses.
• Utilize community resources to support care plans and coordinate access.
• Collaborate with caregivers to ensure cohesive plan execution.

Evaluation:

• Assess the effectiveness of respiratory interventions and patient responses.
• Adjust care plans based on evaluations and feedback.
• Evaluate patient and family understanding and response to education.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Associate Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of hire and maintain active status.
• Hold active Respiratory Care Provider licensure from the relevant state health professions bureau.

Work Shift:

Night shift from 6:00pm to 6:30am, part-time (24 hours weekly).

Regional Location: Serving the Midwest region of the United States.
