Make a meaningful impact on students’ literacy development as a dedicated reading specialist in a supportive school setting. This full-time, contract position focuses on elementary and K-8 caseloads and offers the opportunity to work onsite for 35 hours per week. Two openings are available, with immediate start and placement through June 10, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active PA reading specialist certification is required
• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant subject matter and instructional skills
• Experience working in a school-based environment, particularly in urban settings
• Completed PA clearances (or willingness to obtain them)
• Strong classroom management and behavioral management skills
• Reliable transportation and comfort commuting to the Chester/Media area
• Comfortable with district policies, environment, and expectations
• Experience creating lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards
• Ability to drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiated approaches

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement targeted reading interventions for elementary and K-8 students
• Create engaging, standards-based lesson plans tailored to student needs
• Use formative assessment data to inform and adapt instruction
• Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to promote student growth
• Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders
• Contribute to the inclusive and dynamic school community through proactive engagement
