Specialist II (226 Days)
Responsible for reviewing all payroll reports via the Payroll Dashboard during the processing timeline to ensure all employees have correct paychecks, including the updates of any banking information and withholdings, if applicable. Process any changes initiated in HCM via the Electronic Personnel Position Authorization (EPPA) which includes promotions, demotions, FTE changes, degree updates, etc. prior to payroll processing. Reply to employee inquiries either thru email, calls or in person. Be able to explain calculations on salaries or stipends. Process late information for absences or supplemental pay earnings not recorded in the timecards. Calculate, if applicable any overtime or straight time due to employees and process special off cycle check run, if applicable. Calculate payoffs for employee separations, including verification of PTO, absences and request documentation, if necessary. Send letters to employees for overpayments. Assist with the filing of payroll documents and prepare documents to be scanned and sent to the searchable databases for future retrieval. Process approvals received from the Benefits department for Sick Bank and for worker's compensation offsets from Risk Management. Complete all TRS forms on a timely manner every week. Interact with various departments in the Central Staff offices as well as the campuses to obtain information related to payroll correction forms. Complete and submit pull reversal request on direct deposits or stop pays requests.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED- Required Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Knowledge to calculate basic earnings, overtime, straight time and withholdings for payroll. Excellent customer service. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications Possess organizational skills to meet strict deadlines
