This full-time, contract opportunity runs through the school year and focuses on providing vital counseling services to special education students. You'll play an essential role in helping students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with educational teams, and supporting their academic and social-emotional development.

Key Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling or a related field is required
• Current and valid Alaska state licensure for school counseling
• Experience providing counseling services in K-12 settings, especially with special education population
• Familiarity with IEP processes and tailoring services to diverse student needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group counseling to students in special education per their IEPs
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support students' personal, academic, and social development
• Maintain accurate records and document services provided, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
• Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with best practices in school counseling
