This contract position offers a chance to build meaningful relationships and empower students with specialized counseling tailored to their unique needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling or a related field
• Active, current counselor license in Alaska
• Previous experience providing counseling to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff
• Deep commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment for all students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group counseling sessions to special education students, in accordance with their IEP minutes
• Develop and implement intervention strategies focused on emotional, behavioral, and academic development
• Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and families to coordinate care and ensure continuity of support
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and participate in IEP meetings to contribute professional insights and recommendations
• Advocate for students’ educational and personal development at every opportunity
