Job Title: Welder Job Description

A Welder is responsible for performing welding processes for the fabrication and assembly of metal carts, cabinets, or stainless tables and carts. The role requires physical endurance, with the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours per day. The role also involves lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds with assistance from another team member.

• Determine the appropriate welding process, equipment, or method based on product requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to job specifications.
• Follow all safe manufacturing, material handling, and PPE procedures.
• Follow written and verbal directions to complete assignments or jobs.
• Perform all duties in conjunction with company procedures.
• Conduct quality checks of all finished processes and work.
• Keep the work area clean and clutter-free.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.

• Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Experience in fabrication and production environments.
• Possession of a Welding certificate or 1-3 years of on-the-job MIG welding experience.
• Ability to combine schooling and on-the-job experience.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Proficient in using a tape measure.
• Ability to read blueprints.

• Experience working with second shift schedules.
• Capability to work in a manufacturing environment that can get hot in summer.

The work environment includes a second shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with the potential for additional hours on Saturdays based on production needs. The facility is a typical manufacturing setting, not overly dirty or clean, and can become hot during the summer months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Machesney Park,IL.
