RN Med/Surg Tele FT, Nights- Network Float Pool

Job Overview Position: Registered Nurse – Night Float Pool (Skilled Nursing) Location: Network Operations Center (Primary City/State) Schedule: Full‑time, Nights 7:00pm–7:30am; three shifts per week, including rotating weekend shifts. Float to three or more hospitals. Compensation: Sign‑on bonus available. Responsibilities The RN delivers patient care guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and the Code of Ethics. Records patient medical history and symptoms, performs diagnostic tests, analyzes results, operates medical equipment, and administers treatments and medications. Establishes or contributes to a patient care plan, including medication administration, IV line management, therapies, observations, and consultation with physicians and other clinicians. Taught patients and families how to manage illnesses or injuries, including post‑treatment and home‑care instructions, diet, nutrition, exercise, and self‑medication. Provides direction and delegation to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, ensuring quality patient care. Supports clinical knowledge advancement, mentors new hire staff and students, and encourages professional development. Improves patient experience, clinical outcomes, and promotes a healthy work environment. Stroke‑Specific Knowledge (required for direct stroke patient care) Stroke symptoms and warning signs. Protocols and pathways for identifying, evaluating, and managing stroke patients. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Stroke alert activation and protocol. Stroke quality indicators. Stroke patient education materials and community resources. Stroke Center website resources. Qualifications Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Arizona, or holding a valid national RN designation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and unit‑specific certification as required. Minimum 10 months experience in a med‑surg or acute specialty setting. Minimum 1 year RN experience for all float positions. Experience in patient care planning, care coordination, medication administration, IV therapy, and use of standing orders and policies. Strong clinical knowledge, evidence‑based practice, and ability to evaluate and improve quality of care. Education Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing – required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred. All diploma or ADN holders must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire or have at least five years of RN experience. Licenses & Certifications State or Compact RN licensure in Arizona. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. National certification for the unit’s specific patient population (required upon hire).
