RN Med/Surg Tele Days Per Diem Network Float Pool

Position Overview Primary City/State: Network Operations Center. Category: Skilled Nursing. Shift: Day. Department: Network Float Pool PRN, Days. Float to 3+ campuses. Flexible/Open Scheduling. Requires 2 years previous Telemetry experience. Responsibilities Apply the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics to nursing practice. Record patient medical history and symptoms; perform or coordinate diagnostic tests and analyze results. Operate medical equipment and administer treatments, medications, IV lines, and therapies. Observe patients, record findings, and consult with physicians and other clinicians. Teach patients and families how to manage illnesses or injuries, including post‑treatment care, diet, nutrition, exercise, and medication self‑administration. Provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, delegating responsibilities when appropriate. Support advancement of clinical knowledge and skills, and serve as a preceptor for new hires and students. Continuously enhance knowledge of nursing management and patient care as required. Promote positive work environment and improve patient experience and clinical outcomes. Apply theory‑based, evidence‑based nursing within a Shared Governance decision‑making model. For stroke patient care, possess knowledge of stroke symptoms, pathways, NIHSS, Stroke Alert protocol, quality indicators, educational materials, and community resources. Essential Functions Collect health data systematically, prioritize collection based on patient condition, and involve families. Analyze assessment data to develop diagnoses and implement individualized, family‑centered, culturally relevant care plans. Identify expected outcomes, initiate interventions, and administer treatments, medications, emergency, and resuscitative measures per standing orders. Provide nursing care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs using a family‑centered approach. Document observations, interventions, therapeutic measures, and monitoring data in a retrievable format. Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and refine care plans to improve cost‑effective, high‑quality care. Self‑evaluate practice against professional standards, statutes, regulations, and system policies. Integrate ethical principles and enhance cultural competence for specific patient populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, peers, and other health care providers in planning and evaluating patient care. Develop and evaluate evidence‑based standards of care and identify opportunities for practice improvement. Support and apply research to practice and facilitate adoption of evidence‑based change. Plan and deliver care with safety, effectiveness, and cost considerations, utilizing resources efficiently. Education and Qualifications Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Required: Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (ADN). All diploma and ADN hires must complete BSN within 60 months of hire date or have 10 years of registered nurse experience (direct or indirect). All staff with direct responsibility for stroke patients must meet specific stroke education requirements (refer to addendum). Prior to start: Graduate from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution; have more than 10 months of med‑surg or acute specialty setting experience; 1 year RN experience for all Float Positions. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Registered Nurse (RN) State or Compact State licensure in Arizona. Unit‑specific certification as required by specialty area. National certification for unit‑specific patient population (upon hire).
