ANALYST III

Salary $6,623.00 - $8,290.00 per Month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of alternate range when applicable. Location and Working Conditions Office: Board of Accountancy; Telework: Hybrid. Candidates must reside in California once hired. The Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) may reduce monthly salary in exchange for leave credits; salary ranges posted do not reflect this reduction. Job Summary Under the direction of the CEA A, the Analyst III serves as a project manager to research, consult, and evaluate the programs within the California Board of Accountancy (CBA) to determine the need for proposed and revised regulations. The incumbent will develop all CBA regulations and evaluate the effect of newly approved regulations on CBA programs. The incumbent acts authoritatively and possesses an expertise in CBA programs and promulgation of rulemaking packages. Responsibilities Lead research and consult on CBA programs to identify regulatory needs and opportunities. Develop and revise CBA regulations, assessing the impact of new regulations on CBA operations. Act authoritatively as a subject‑matter expert on rulemaking and regulation development. Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and tribal governments to improve outcomes for Californians. Qualifications Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications stated in the Classification Specification. Key requirements include: Extensive experience in public accounting regulation or related fields. Strong analytical, research, and project‑management skills. Ability to develop regulatory language and explain regulatory impact. Effective communication and collaboration skills across diverse populations.
