Business Analytics Specialist at Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services

Overview DCFS is working to keep children safe, helping individuals and families become self-sufficient, and providing safe refuge during disasters. This position is with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in the Office of Management and Finance (OMF), Digital Services System Integration and Data Analytics sections. This position is responsible for collecting, maintaining, and analyzing complex data sets to support data-driven decision-making across the agency. Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in accounting, budgeting, contracts, economics, engineering, finance, financial auditing, grants, human resources, information technology, management analysis, operational auditing, policy planning, procurement, social services, statistical analysis, tax collections, or tax enforcement; OR Six years of experience in any field plus three years of experience in accounting, budgeting, contracts, economics, engineering, finance, financial auditing, grants, human resources, information technology, management analysis, operational auditing, policy planning, procurement, social services, statistical analysis, tax collections, or tax enforcement; OR A bachelor\'s degree plus three years of experience in accounting, budgeting, contracts, economics, engineering, finance, financial auditing, grants, human resources, information technology, management analysis, operational auditing, policy planning, procurement, social services, statistical analysis, tax collections, or tax enforcement; OR An advanced degree plus two years of experience in accounting, budgeting, contracts, economics, engineering, finance, financial auditing, grants, human resources, information technology, management analysis, operational auditing, policy planning, procurement, social services, statistical analysis, tax collections, or tax enforcement.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties Collects, maintains and analyzes complex data sets to support data-driven decision-making across the agency. Cleaning and validating data, identifying trends and patterns, and generating actionable insights. Collaborate with program areas to define clear data requirements and deliver analytics that align with agency objectives. Develops dashboards, reports, and visualization to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders. Position-Specific Details Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
