Fabrication Shop Helper (Miscellaneous)
Openwork is hiring Fabrication Shop Helpers (Miscellaneous) for a leading steel and aluminum manufacturing company in Northeast Houston. This is a great opportunity for candidates with fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop experience who want a stable position with opportunities to grow. Responsibilities:
- Assist fabricators with assembling and fitting metal components.
- Read blueprints and welding symbols.
- Grind, cut, and prepare materials for production.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Move materials using forklifts, hoists, or overhead cranes as needed.
- Help fabricate grating panels and other metal products.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Support production goals by working closely with the fabrication team.
Qualifications:
- 12 years of fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop experience required.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
- Experience with grinders and cutting tools.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically active environment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
