Learn more about this agency Duties Help Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Service Center Operations Directorate and are assigned based on the need of the agency. The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity. Supports the service center Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff on all administrative matters associated with programs and operations owned or managed by the Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff. Develops and advises on local administrative requirements or inquiries for the office, and actively participates in developing and implementing local administrative policies, guidelines and processes. Manages all calendaring of events, preparation of materials including agendas, correspondence and memorandums, facilitates the center's visiting officials and arranges all associated logistics. Arranges for the preparation of briefing materials, talking points, LER materials and executive summaries. Works closely with staff to track projects and to ensure implementation dates are met. Ensures that correspondence is consistent with policies and position on complex matters. Facilitates timely and complete responses to inquiries from high level sources or significant interest groups. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Maintaining the calendar for management to include scheduling meetings, travel, conferences and interviews; Reviewing or developing materials for management to ensure the content is clear and concise; Evaluating established procedures within an office to determine if existing procedures are effective and efficient; OR You may substitute a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent degree) or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L.L.M. if related for experience at the GS-11 grade level or such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Managing projects, tasks, and action items, keeping managers informed of critical developments; Establishing criteria to measure or predict the effectiveness of a program or organizational goals; Providing comprehensive reports identifying administrative or operational issues and presenting the data to management; Applying and adapting analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency of program operations.
