Role Description The Paralegal Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Skowhegan, ME. This role supports attorneys with day-to-day tasks such as preparing and organizing legal documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with estate planning and guardianship matters. Responsibilities include drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, and coordinating client communications. The Paralegal Assistant may assist with notary services, document execution, and court filing procedures as needed. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a respectful and client-centered environment. Qualifications Foundational knowledge of Law and interest or experience in elder law, estate planning, or guardianship matters. Strong Legal Document Preparation skills, including drafting, formatting, and organizing legal forms, letters, and filings. Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, families, and colleagues. Research skills for gathering factual information to support attorneys and client matters. High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy office setting. Proficiency Microdoft office, Co-pilot and legal practice management tools such as Clio, ability to learn new systems quickly. Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism and empathy in all interactions. Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a law office setting is preferred but not required.
