Registered Nurse - Southern Wisconsin Center

Position Summary As an RN, you will perform direct patient care for developmentally disabled residents. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, administering and evaluating individual care for residents. Salary and Benefits Classification: Nurse Clinician 2. Starting salary $42.86–$49.61 per hour, based on years of licensure; additional increases are based on years of licensure as shown below. Years of Licensure → Pay Rate: 0 $42.86; 3 $45.06; 5 $46.19; 7 $47.33; 9 $48.48; 11 $49.61.

• 1.40 per hour differential for 1st shift RNs (6 pm–6 am).
• 3.90 per hour differential for 2nd or 3rd shift RNs (6 pm–6 am).
• 3,000 sign‑on bonus (no prior state service in last five years); split 50/50 after hire and probation.

12‑month probationary period (pay schedule as of 11/02). Health plan options: single $45/month; family $111/month after 2 months of state service. Employee assistance program – free and confidential. Qualifications Minimum qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse in Wisconsin by time of appointment. Knowledge of general nursing theory, nursing process and nursing standards. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime or extra hours. Preferred qualifications: Experience applying nursing techniques to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled patient population at SWC. Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team (e.g., CNAs, LPNs, other RNs). Experience providing effective direction and overseeing the work of other nursing team members. Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written methods. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and balance.
