You apply deep technical expertise and leadership to solve complex engineering problems, accelerate cloud adoption, and raise the quality bar through strong design and engineering practices.Job responsibilitiesDesign and implement cloud-native software solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient productsDevelop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others to improve reliability and maintainabilityDrive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and operational processes across the engineering lifecycleServe as a subject matter expert in one or more focus areas (for example: public cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure as code)Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen team capabilities and delivery consistencyInfluence peers and project stakeholders to adopt leading engineering practices and technologies that improve measurable outcomesDrive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (for example: AI-assisted code review and refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident root-cause analysis), while establishing measurable validation standards and promoting reuseApply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scaleRequired qualifications, capabilities and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience and 2+ years of experience leading engineers to plan, deliver, and resolve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseHands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and production operations for distributed servicesAdvanced proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or TypeScriptExperience migrating complex applications to the public cloud (IaC developer, SRE and Acceleration roles)Experience delivering in an Agile environment using practices such as continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/DC), and ScrumStrong understanding of software design principles and patterns, with experience implementing modular monolith and microservices architecturesDemonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (for example: coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and securityStrong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controlsPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skillsExperience designing and maintaining API-based and event-driven architecturesAdvanced experience building and operating cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web ServicesStrong hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code patterns (including modules, policies, and environment promotion)Experience with modern front-end development using ReactExperience defining observability standards (metrics, logs, traces) and operational readiness practices for production servicesChase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America’s households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
