Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for a Pathology Assistant in North Dakota! Job Description:
- Join a dynamic team as a Pathology Assistant and make an impact in patient care!
- Assist in the preparation and performance of surgical specimen and frozen section dissections.
- Collaborate directly with Pathologists to ensure accurate gross specimen analysis.
- Maintain precision in patient identification for all specimens processed for microscopic examination.
- Perform surgical specimen dissection on a variety of cases, providing quality materials for routine histology studies.
- Dictate complete and accurate gross descriptions to support timely diagnostics.
- Execute frozen sections and maintain cryostats to ensure optimal functionality.
- Engage in effective communication with pathologists and providers to facilitate timely result reporting.
- Ensure the surgical pathology gross cutting area and morgue are clean and well-supplied to support department operations.
- Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance processes to uphold laboratory standards.
- Stay updated on technical aspects of Anatomic Pathology, addressing any discrepancies in test results.
- Undertake additional duties as needed to enhance department efficiency. Certification:
- ASCP Certification or ASCP exam readiness with certification prior to start date.
- Completion of NAACLS Accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program required.
- Preferred: Prior grossing experience. Shift Information:
- 5 X 8s • 40 hrs / week Minimum Years of Experience:
