Group Leader (Property Accounting)

Position Summary Virrtue is seeking experienced finance and accounting management professionals to be appointed as Group Leaders in the Chennai office. The ideal candidate will guide a team of accountants, coordinate financial statements for a group of clients in the property management domain, engage regularly with clients and auditors, and implement accounting procedures as per GAAP. Key Responsibilities Managing a team of accountants and ensuring adherence to daily BAU activities Ensuring timely delivery of financial statements according to client agreements Regular interactions and discussions with clients about the financial performance of their properties Responding to accounting questions related to the client’s business within strict TATs Taking responsibility for the accuracy of financial statements prepared by the team Supervising the accounting team in reviewing rent rolls, reconciling bank statements, and monitoring monthly operating results against agreed budgets Coordinating with operational team members to prepare and approve financial budgets for each property assigned Coordinating with the Controller, CFO, and other Assistant Controllers to establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures Reviewing CAM reconciliation, management fee calculation, accruals, current liabilities, and aging (AR, AP & BRS) Facilitating hiring as well as annual performance reviews for a team of assistant controllers and accountants Managing team efficiency and providing staffing recommendations to meet expected performance metrics Providing support in financial audit requests and recommending procedural improvements Reviewing all balance sheet accounts for changes and understanding the data in these accounts Generating reports such as variance analysis, balance sheet, P&L, account reconciliation, and aging Timely creation of accurate financial statements as per business requirements Skills Required Deep understanding of financial concepts applicable in the US commercial landscape Proven organizational skills, especially attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively Excellent critical reasoning, analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Experience with ERPs such as Yardi, Entrata & Real Page Proficient with MS Office, PowerPoint & Visio Knowledge of JIRA, Macro, and Power BI is an advantage Education Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting M.Com, MBA (Finance & Accounting), or CPA preferred Experience 10+ years of relevant experience in a similar environment Familiarity with multi-family, student housing and affordable housing property management and accounting is preferred Location 4300 Alpha Road, Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75244 Contact Phone: View phone number on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr Virrtue
