Position Overview
We are seeking a Litigation Attorney with strong experience in labor and employment matters to join our litigation team. The successful candidate will manage employment-related disputes from intake through trial or resolution, advise clients on litigation strategy and risk, draft pleadings and motions, conduct discovery and hearings, and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver practical, client-focused solutions. Experience in employment law and employment litigation is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of labor and employment disputes from case intake through trial and post-trial proceedings, including drafting complaints, answers, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct factual and legal research, prepare memoranda, and develop litigation strategies tailored to client objectives.
• Lead and coordinate discovery efforts, including written discovery, responses, depositions, document review, and discovery motion practice.
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials; prepare witnesses and exhibits and present oral argument.
• Advise clients on risk, settlement options, and compliance with federal and state employment statutes (e.g., Title VII, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, NLRA) and develop preventative strategies.
• Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to manage case budgets, timelines, and deliverables; delegate tasks and supervise junior associates and paralegals.
• Maintain client relationships through regular communication, status updates, and business development activities; draft engagement letters and billing statements as needed.
• Stay current on changes in labor and employment law and litigation practice; contribute to internal training and client-facing materials.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
• 3+ years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on labor and employment law and employment litigation (candidates with a mix of defense and plaintiff-side experience encouraged to apply).
• Proven courtroom and hearing experience, including depositions, motion practice, and trial or arbitration work.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to produce clear, persuasive pleadings and briefs under deadline.
• Strong negotiation and client counseling abilities; comfortable advising corporate and individual clients on litigation risk and settlement strategy.
• Demonstrated experience managing a busy caseload, meeting billing targets, and working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with federal and state employment statutes and regulations and practical experience applying them in litigation.
• Highly organized, with strong time-management skills and attention to detail; ability to mentor junior staff and delegate effectively.
• Preferred: prior experience in labor union matters or collective bargaining disputes; bilingual skills a plus; active involvement in professional associations (e.g., bar or employment law groups).
