Vice President of Technology

Aurenity is a founder-led specialty E&S insurance MGA that is growing fast. We are looking for a new technology leader. As our VP of Technology, you'll report directly to our COO and collaborate closely with other executives to lead our product development and technology strategy. We are an AI-first business with no tech debt. We move fast and are highly operationally involved. Come help us evolve the platform for continued growth. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Our technology, architecture, and AI strategy + roadmap The stack we run our business on. From data intake, to clearance, triage, and scoring to support the policy life cycle Our data strategy – the architecture, ingestion, sourcing, ways to leverage with AI, reporting, etc. The technology that supports our pricing, risk and winnability scoring products. The vision and product management for our AI-first productivity suite – enabling automation and efficiency gains to drive revenue growth and expense optimization Execution of value based business capabilities and associated KPI framework in partnership with finance Technical documentation of process and user flows – used to make our entire operating model more efficient Running build-vs-buy with discipline across our vendor stack + manage vendors Own data integrity governance, security, and regulatory compliance WHAT YOU BRING 7+ years of experience building and shipping data-intensive production systems A bias for action and willingness to go hands-on.You’re a doer and can wear Product, Engineering and IT Ops hats. Ability to design and evolve a rules, decisioning, or pricing engine - underwriting, credit, fraud, claims, or risk scoring A data-rich background where the data was key to the product: insurance, lending, fintech, healthcare, etc. AI-forward and practical - you've been hands-on with key AI tools to boost productivity and release velocity Intellectually curiosity - you learn a domain by interrogating the people who live in it, and read up Commercial thinking - you frame builds by their effect on business KPIs – such as quote rate, bind rate, loss ratio, etc. Tech-pragmatism – Super practical approach to buy vs build. You buy the rentable layer and build only the logic that's actually differentiated NICE TO HAVE Time in E&S / specialty insurance, MGA, carrier, or Insurtech - underwriting workflow or actuarial-adjacent data Hands-on with policy admin software, rating engines, underwriting desktops, data warehouses, and actuarial and data science tools Experience with lead scoring, routing, nurturing and corresponding lifecycle marketing technologies to drive optimal funnel economics Experience scaling systems and leading change management during the process Time at a PE- or VC-backed company THIS ISN'T THE ROLE IF You want to architect and hand the build to someone else or you have been exclusively at large firms You need a CTO title, an exec-team seat, or a headcount plan as a condition of joining Your AI experience is conference-deep, without a production system or a metric behind it #J-18808-Ljbffr Aurenity
