Assistant Project Manager

Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support commercial and mission-critical/data center construction projects in Cedar Rapids, IA . Specializing in data center interior solutions , our client delivers raised access flooring, hot and cold aisle containment, high-density ceilings, specialty interior systems, maintenance services, and consulting/testing for some of North America's most advanced mission-critical facilities. This is a direct hire opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to build a long-term career in project management. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you'll gain hands‑on experience managing project schedules, documentation, subcontractors, budgets, and field operations while developing into a future Project Manager. Responsibilities Support the Project Manager throughout all phases of construction Coordinate project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation Manage material expediting, deliveries, and project files Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and project reporting Coordinate with field operations, subcontractors, and vendors Monitor project progress and communicate schedule impacts Support inspections, quality control, and project closeout Qualifications 2+ years of commercial construction experience Understanding of construction schedules, budgets, and contracts Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred Why Apply?
