Deputy Program Manager, NASA AEGIS Program

The Digital Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Deputy Program Manager to help provide program leadership to NASA to support a complex set of enterprise IT services, including network infrastructure, data center operations, cloud computing and cybersecurity. In this position you will serve as a direct report to the Program Manager within Leidos for the NASA AEGIS Program. The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for assisting the Program Manager with achieving financial, service delivery, customer satisfaction, and growth objectives. The position can be located onsite at any NASA Center. The AEGIS program is NASA’s largest IT infrastructure services contract, supporting enterprise IT and mission systems across data centers, cloud platforms, networks, collaboration tools, voice over IP, and cybersecurity. As part of the AEGIS leadership team, you will directly influence how NASA evolves to support missions on Earth, in space, and beyond.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate is a trusted technical advisor, a strategic thinker, an energetic people leader, and a recognized subject matter expert with broad experience across enterprise IT domains. The Deputy Program Manager must be able to create and maintain a collaborative work environment; set goals; give clear direction to the team and provide decisive and constructive feedback; empower individuals to take ownership for their assignments; facilitate identification and capture of funded program growth; and demonstrate and insist on ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values. This person will help manage a complex IT service delivery program involving multiple tasks, multiple customer organizations, and complex responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership

• Build strong relationships with senior NASA and Leidos leadership to ensure alignment with agency priorities.
• Lead engineering across all AEGIS technologies including data centers, cloud, networking, VoIP, cybersecurity, and collaboration services.
• Continuously assess enterprise system baselines and recommend improvements to support modernization.
• Translate NASA OCIO and Office of Engineering objectives into actionable engineering priorities, plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide direct leadership of the Collaboration Services & Specialized Services Portfolio Managers. These portions of the contract support the Conference Room standardization and operation efforts, as well as work packages that are individually funded by NASA Centers and OCIO organizations outside of the Network and Compute Infrastructure Services (NCIS) OCIO Service Line.
• Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and accountability.
• Mentor leaders at all levels on career growth, skills, and technical decision making.
• Communicate clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and model strong leadership behaviors.
• Promote collaboration across the program and within Leidos.

Planning, Governance & Integration

• Understand contract technical requirements and guide the team toward solutions meeting user needs and contract obligations.
• Support AEGIS program governance to ensure transparency on status, schedules, dependencies, risks, constraints, and required decisions.
• Implement structured methods for identifying, prioritizing, escalating, and resolving risks and issues.
• Support the Program Manager with integration with the Leidos Corporate business rhythms, including Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs), Integrated Program Reviews (IPRs), Financial Risk & Ops Reviews, Annual Operating Plans.
• Assist in facilitation of internal program business rhythms, including ability to stand in for PM with COR, CO, Center CIO and Service Line Leadership integration points.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's and 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Strong leadership abilities; detail-oriented; effective under deadlines.
• At least 7 years of experience with the management, manpower utilization, and supervision of employees (including subcontractors) of various labor categories and skills in projects.
• Proven Program Management experience across CPAF, and FFP contracts. This includes experience managing contract deliverable items, budgets, customer satisfaction.
• Proven experience and interaction with senior level customers (SES and above).
• Experience in effectively capturing on contract growth.
• Experience managing IT contracts with focus on Customer Relationship Management across multiple stakeholder communities.
• Demonstrated success building relationships with customers and teammates.
• Ability to effectively communicate when briefing Leidos and NASA senior leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• ITIL Certification.
• SAFe® Agile Product Manager or Lean Portfolio Manager.
• Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification.
• Experience working with NASA or other federal agencies
• Technical knowledge across one or more of the following technologies:
  • Network Solutions (e.g., LAN, WAN, SDA, SD-WAN)
  • Data Center Technologies (e.g., Virtualization, Capacity Management, Data Backup)
  • Cloud-based Architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Collaboration Services (e.g., Conferencing, VoIP)

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance ranging from a Public Trust, at minimum, up to a Top Secret clearance , as required.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00
