Director of Business Development

NuCube Energy is an advanced technology company dedicated to resolving energy security challenges. The company's mission is to develop nuclear reactors that are simple, cost-effective, and inherently safe, capable of supplying both electricity and process heat. Rather than relying on conventional large-scale or space-oriented designs, NuCube has created a reactor capable of generating heat in excess of 1,000°C without the need for water or gas cooling, utilizing few moving components and delivering high efficiency. The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and managing commercial agreements with customers, suppliers and strategic partners. This position requires full customer and supplier value analysis, contract negotiation, financial analysis of possible technological partnership. Main responsibilities include: Routinely perform market assessment and customer value analysis by segment Providing short- and long-term market forecasts and reports to guide business decisions. Collaborating with engineering and product development teams to ensure the development of new uses for existing products. Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure long-term success. Identifying and developing new business opportunities. Negotiating customer contracts based on structured financial analysis. Support the technical team in negotiating procurement contracts by supplier value analysis and detailed financial models. Traveling to various locations, including international travel, meeting with clients and participating in industry events. Supervise and mentor business development personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration is considered a minimum requirement. A combination of technical and financial education would be preferred, e.g., undergraduate degree in engineering with an MBA. Experience: A minimum of (10) years' experience in business development/marketing and negotiation of complex procurement and sale contracts in the area of technology. Experience in t energy generation with new technology or nuclear power plants is preferred. Overall, Job Knowledge and Performance: General understanding of energy markets, market analysis, customer and supplier value analysis, financial modeling, negotiation and sale cycle management for large capital assets. Direct experience in the energy sector and especially in the nuclear industry would be preferred. Preferred skills and experience: Proven ability in developing and managing client and customer relationships is essential. Prior experience in new-reactor business development is preferred. Strong skills required in presentation, proposal development, process management and improvement, market and product planning, customer value management, budget development, financial planning and strategy. Demonstrated aptitude for open-ended problem-solving and resolving ambiguous situations. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents. Proven track record of overseeing and managing multiple concurrent activities in a highly dynamic environment with frequent reprioritization. Experience with establishing and maintaining CRM systems is required.
