Start your future with BorgWarner now!Job PurposeThe IT Finance Intern will support the IT Finance organization by assisting with monthly forecasting, budgeting, cost center management, and financial analysis activities. This role will work closely with the IT Finance Manager and partner with IT cost center owners as a finance business partner. The intern will gain hands-on experience using enterprise financial systems such as SAP, OneStream, and NICUS, as well as developing financial analyses and presentation materials using Excel and Microsoft applications. The role will also contribute to process improvement initiatives using AI and the development of standard work and documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning and AnalysisSupport monthly forecast cycles, including data preparation, variance analysis, and consolidation of inputs from IT cost center ownersEvaluate actual results vs. forecast and budget, identify key drivers, and summarize variancesAssist with budget and forecast development in NICUS, including data validation and system updatesSupport IT Finance Manager in preparing management and executive-level presentation materialsBusiness Partnering SupportWork with IT cost center owners to gather forecast inputs, improve data quality, and clarify financial questionsAssist in ensuring compliance with financial and accounting guidelines related to IT spend and allocationsHelp document assumptions, risks, and opportunities related to IT forecasts and budgetsSystems and ToolsPerform system administration support in NICUS, including maintaining data tables, user access support, and basic configuration tasks (as appropriate)Support financial activities across SAP and OneStream, including extracting data, reconciling figures, and validating reporting outputsDevelop and maintain Excel-based models, templates, and trackers to support forecasting and reporting processesUtilize Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) for analysis, communication, and documentationProcess Improvement and Standard WorkSupport process improvement initiatives related to forecasting, budgeting, cost center management, and reportingAssist in developing and maintaining standard work procedures, job aids, and training documentationHelp identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency within IT Finance processesAdditional ResponsibilitiesAssist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as neededSupport internal audits, data requests, and cross-functional inquiries related to IT financial performanceParticipate in training sessions to build understanding of IT financial systems and processesWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Education and ExperienceCurrent full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, vocational/trade school.Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Management Information Systems, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis); PowerPoint experience preferredAbility to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholdersStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesPreferred Experience/SkillsExposure to SAP, OneStream, NICUS, or other ERP/FP&A systemsPrior internship or coursework related to financial analysis, budgeting, or forecastingInterest in IT Finance, cost management, or enterprise systemsExperience documenting processes or creating standard workWork Environment RequirementMust have the ability to report onsite at least three days per weekWhat We BelieveInclusion-We value diversity in people, ideas, and experiences.Integrity- We believe in transparency, authenticity, and depend on each other to deliver what we promise.Excellence- We contribute to our developments by seeking knowledge and sharing information.Responsibility- We care about our local communities and the global environment.Collaboration- We are one BorgWarner.SafetyThis position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires.
