Healthcare Regulatory Associate
Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Healthcare Regulatory Associate with 24 years of experience to join its innovative Healthcare Regulatory practice.
This is an opportunity to work exclusively on healthcare innovation, advising companies at every stagefrom formation and financing through capital markets and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the intersection of technology and healthcare, including AI, healthcare IT, telehealth, remote patient monitoring, wearables, and health apps.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters.
- Counsel digital health companies on corporate practice of medicine and multi-state regulatory issues.
- Advise on healthcare reimbursement, value-based care, and accountable care organizations.
- Counsel clients on fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, and state laws.
- Advise on HIPAA, health privacy, health data exchange, and interoperability.
- Counsel clients on healthcare transactions, AI regulation, and state healthcare transaction notification requirements.
- Advise healthcare technology companies on legal issues involving security, data, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- 24 years of healthcare regulatory experience.
- Experience in several areas of healthcare law, with a willingness to develop expertise in additional areas.
- Strong interest in healthcare technology and innovation, including AI, digital health, telemedicine, and health data.
- Experience with healthcare regulatory matters such as HIPAA, reimbursement, fraud and abuse, corporate practice of medicine, or healthcare transactions preferred.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, judgment, and ability to learn complex issues quickly.
- Strong client-service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel periodically for client events and healthcare conferences.
Locations
Seattle, WA; Washington, DC; Boston, MA; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; or San Diego, CA. Other locations may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Compensation
$235,000$310,000, based on year classification. Discretionary merit bonuses may also be available.
