Abstracts required cancer-related information into the electronic cancer registry system. Coordinates and maintains the long-term follow-up process for cancer registry patients. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide insights and support research initiatives. Provides data for patient care evaluations and protocol studies. Generates statistical reports and summaries to support oncology services. Other duties as assigned. Identifies and analyzes the history, diagnosis, treatment, disease status, and survival data of cancer patients. Prepares and electronically submits required reporting information to state and national cancer databases. Conducts audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Utilizes data analysis tools to enhance reporting capabilities. Communicates findings and insights to stakeholders effectively. Collects, organizes, and ensures the accuracy of cancer-related data from various sources. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Medical Terminology & Anatomy-[Required] Attention to details and strong understanding of cancer data collection, medical coding and healthcare regulation-[Required] Cancer Staging and Classification Systems-[Required] Coding Systems-[Required] State and Central Cancer Registries Reporting-[Required] Knowledge of abstracting systems-[Required] Cancer Case Abstracting-[Required] Data Quality and Validation- [Required] Analytical Thinking -Making judgments on stage grouping, coding and treatment classification-[Required] Communication-Clear written communication for documentation and collaboration-Required.
