Sales Representative - Flooring & Surface Solutions

Location: Sterling, VA

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 Base Salary + Commission

On-Target Earnings: Up to $150,000+ Annually

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Sales Representative to develop new business and grow existing accounts throughout the Sterling, VA market. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping customers find flooring, countertop, and surface solutions that meet their business needs.

The successful candidate will manage a designated territory, work closely with retailers and dealers, and act as a trusted advisor by providing product expertise, sales support, and business development strategies.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• One Saturday per month: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail and dealer partners within an assigned territory.
• Generate new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts.
• Educate customers and sales teams on product offerings, features, and competitive advantages.
• Conduct in-person sales presentations and product demonstrations.
• Consult with customers on pricing strategies, promotions, and merchandising opportunities.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales agreements.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
• Analyze sales reports and identify growth opportunities within the territory.
• Manage product displays, samples, marketing materials, and sales tools.
• Resolve customer concerns related to orders, deliveries, returns, and service issues.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions as needed.
• Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity within CRM systems.

Qualifications

• Previous outside sales, territory sales, account management, or business development experience preferred.
• Experience in flooring, building materials, home improvement, construction products, manufacturing, or related industries is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing a large territory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 90% travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Primarily local travel with occasional overnight travel.
