Human Resources Coordinator

AG Millworks has a temporary, full-time Human Resources Coordinator role in Ventura, CA (onsite) supporting HR during a planned leave. Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR contact for employees. Own full-cycle recruiting: review applications, conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, and complete reference checks. Coordinate new hire onboarding, including orientations, and maintain employee personnel files in both electronic and paper formats. Maintain employee timecard records, monitor attendance, and process weekly payroll. Administer employee leaves, benefits administration support, employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other HR programs. Answer employee questions and provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment matters in both English and Spanish. Partner with managers on employee relations matters while applying company policies consistently. Support compliance with federal, California, and local employment laws and regulations. Prepare HR reports, audit timecards, maintain spreadsheets, and complete special HR projects. Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience required. Fluent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish . Thorough knowledge of California and federal employment laws, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, CFRA , wage and hour requirements, and other applicable regulations. Experience processing payroll and maintaining employee timekeeping records. Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day HR functions with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software. Job Details Location: Ventura, CA (onsite, in person) Job type: Full-time Pay: USD $20.00 to $24.00 per hour Temporary assignment: Approximately 6–9 months Anticipated start: August or September 2026 Estimated end: April or May 2027 Timing note: Start date, end date, and duration are estimates and may change based on business needs.
