Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Sage accounting software, and payroll processing experience. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, processing payroll, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
\n
• Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
\n
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
\n
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
\n
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
\n
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
\n
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
\n
• Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
\n
• Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of financial and employee payroll information.
\n
• Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
\n
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
\n
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Sage accounting software.
\n
• Experience processing payroll and related reconciliations.
\n
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
\n
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
\n
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
