Job Summary The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for developing and implementing patient care plans based on a thorough understanding of medical, surgical, and nursing diagnoses. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe environment and delivering high standards of care during surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' physical status meticulously.
- Collect and document comprehensive patient data through interviews, observations, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Utilize collected information to plan and deliver tailored patient care.
- Engage with patients empathetically, addressing their perceptions and concerns surrounding surgical procedures.
- Identify necessary interventions, anticipating potential complications and adjusting priorities in response to emergencies or changes in patient condition.
- Maintain a sterile environment and demonstrate proficiency in creating and sustaining a sterile field.
- Prepare for procedures by anticipating the need for equipment and supplies.
- Understand and apply knowledge of anesthesia drugs and expected surgical outcomes.
- Evaluate nursing interventions against established expected outcomes and reassess patient status, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Active Registered Nurse License in the State of California.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an operating room setting is required.
- Experience with Cerner and CNOR certification is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and ancillary staff.
