RN - PACU

Registered Nurse - Pre-Op and PACU/Recovery Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00) with 2-3 call requirements. Shifts may include weekend coverage.

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a busy Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The role includes managing patients before and after surgical procedures and requires proficiency in EPIC charting. The nurse will be expected to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and may be assigned to assist with various surgical services.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patients in the PACU.
• Administer medications and manage anesthesia effects.
• Conduct follow-up assessments and pre-operative education.
• Participate in call schedules as required by the unit.
• Float between Pre-op and PACU as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ER, ICU, or PACU.
• Current California RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required.
• Experience with dysrhythmia recognition and management, IV starts, and airway assessments.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
