Welder (MIG) This role focuses on MIG welding and fabrication of agricultural and cultivation equipment, with an emphasis on fitting, reading blueprints, and working with thick steel in a manufacturing environment. You will set up and adjust your own welding equipment, contribute to the fabrication of tractor parts, and support production needs while maintaining quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on thick steel components for agricultural and cultivation equipment, including tractor parts. Work as a welder/fitter rather than solely a production welder, ensuring accurate fit-up and alignment of parts before welding. Interpret and read blueprints and weld symbols to determine weld locations, specifications, and fabrication requirements. Set up your own welding machine, including configuring parameters and adjusting heat settings for various materials and thicknesses. Conduct hot welding operations safely and efficiently, maintaining consistent weld quality. Participate in weld testing to demonstrate proficiency and ensure adherence to quality standards. Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily fabrication and welding activities. Measure and verify dimensions to ensure fabricated parts meet blueprint specifications and tolerances. Use fabrication equipment such as drills and presses to prepare, modify, and assemble metal components. Support shipping and receiving activities as needed, including handling bills of lading and assisting with assembly tasks. Collaborate with team members in a manufacturing environment to meet production schedules and backorder demands. Be available to work first shift hours and remain open to Saturday work when required to address backorders and production needs. Essential Skills Proven experience as a MIG welder working with thick steel and hot welding applications. Ability to work as a welder/fitter, with strong skills in fitting and aligning components prior to welding. Comfort and proficiency with metal fabrication, including cutting, fitting, and assembling steel parts. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and recognize weld symbols accurately. Capability to set up welding machines independently and adjust heat settings based on material and thickness requirements. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. Accurate measuring skills to ensure parts conform to specified dimensions and tolerances. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating fabrication equipment such as drills and presses. Experience in forklift operation in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including handling bills of lading. Experience with assembly work related to manufactured or fabricated components. Willingness to work Saturday shifts when needed to support production and backorder requirements. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing environment focused on welding and fabricating tractor parts and other agricultural and cultivation equipment. The role operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with openness to Saturday work when needed to address backorders. You will work around welding machines, fabrication tools such as drills and presses, and material handling equipment, maintaining safety standards in an active production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Selma, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
