Health Professions Curriculum Coordinator

Job Summary The Curriculum Coordinator provides essential support for designing, implementing, and continually enhancing the MPH core curriculum. This position collaborates closely with course instructors and program leadership to maintain alignment across core courses, ensure consistent learning objectives, and adhere to accreditation and SMPH policies. Additionally, the Coordinator assesses curricular effectiveness, identifies opportunities for improvement, and ensures the program remains responsive to evolving public health competencies and workforce needs. Appointment Details Terminal appointment of 24 months, with possibility for extension or conversion based on need and funding. Work may be performed in-person on campus or remotely at an offsite location. Work schedule is flexible and will be determined at the time of hire. Key Responsibilities Facilitate classroom and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance. Maintain a thorough understanding of accreditation program requirements and ensure compliance with policy. Serve as the initial point of contact for students regarding specific course or series content and expectations. Assist with the development of instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction under direction of faculty. Serve as a resource to advise learners of program and institutional policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Proven professional experience in public health, higher education, or academic program coordination, including facilitation of learning activities, workshops, or course‐related instruction. Experience supporting student assessment processes, including grading and providing feedback. Experience in curriculum development, mapping, and evaluation, aligning learning objectives, competencies, and assessment strategies across courses and programs. Interest in or experience with teaching and instructional support, working with faculty on course design, pedagogy, and educational innovation. Proven ability to support all learners in higher education settings. Familiarity with academic policies, student services, and program operations in higher education. Excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in academic program coordination, planning, and project management, preferably within a graduate or professional public health program. Strong understanding of public health education frameworks and competencies (e.g., CEPH accreditation criteria), with experience supporting accreditation processes or continuous quality improvement. Experience using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and academic data systems to support instruction and program administration. Ability to analyze program data and contribute to program evaluation, reporting, and strategic planning. Education Bachelor’s degree in public health or comparable field required. Master's degree in Public Health or allied field, curriculum and instruction, or a closely related discipline preferred. Benefits The starting salary is $60,000 annually, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
