Job Description Summary Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing, delegating tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) per Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients. Responsibilities Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual (30%). Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions based on diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve appropriate outcomes (30%). Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to interventions and achievement of outcomes; revises plan of care as needed (20%). Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance targets (10%). Operations – Focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency in job duties as a High Reliability Organization (HRO) (10%). Qualifications Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio. BLS certification (American Heart Association). BSN required at 5 years of employment. Minimum experience: not specified other than requiring RN license. Work Schedule Shift: Night. Weekly hours: 36.
