Job Opportunity

Position: Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse

Shift: Weekend | 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week)

Overview

Join our Critical Care Float Pool, where you will work weekend night shifts and have the flexibility to assist in various ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity. Nurses will float to multiple critical care units, allowing for a diverse and dynamic working environment.

Unit Specialties

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Surgical Intensive Care Units (ICU)
• Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU x2)
• Cardiology/Diagnostics
• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - Required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records is required.
• Experience with the following skills is essential:
  • IV Start and management
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Ventilator management
• Previous travel nursing experience is strongly preferred.

Patient Care Environment

As a float nurse, you will be required to provide care to patients in various intensive care units, ensuring high-quality support based on patient needs. This role demands clinical excellence and adaptability to changing environments.

Patient Ratios

During shifts, you will experience a patient ratio of 1:2 days and nights, and weekends.

Orientation

The orientation period consists of 36 hours of training to prepare you for your role in the Critical Care Float Pool.

Agency staff have various parking permit options available, including convenient access to medical facilities and shuttle services. Options include:

• WMC Agency Permit: 24/7 access to specific parking garage.
• WB Permit: Budget-friendly weekend/holiday access to surface lots and shuttle service.
• CXS Permit: Weekend/holiday access to selected garages and surface lots.
