Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PCU License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU - ACLS/BLS certification required - Previous travel nursing experience preferred Description: Schedule includes weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Responsibilities include providing care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients. Utilize skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Familiarity with the electronic health record system for documentation is necessary. The position offers a dynamic schedule with the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. The patient diagnoses include various transplant cases. The unit sees a daily census of approximately 20 patients and has 22 beds. Special procedures and equipment utilized on the unit include telemetry and bladder scanning. Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and more. This unit combines both ICU and PCU characteristics. Travelers will not be expected to care for ICU level patients but will only work in the PCU.
