About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of MedSurg/Tele experience License: RN Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips, general medical/surgical skill set Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele. The facility has a total of 337 licensed beds. The unit consists of 34 beds with an average census of 32 patients. Patient types include those with DKA, Sepsis, Wounds, CHF, AKI, PNA, Diabetes, Anemia, and Sickle Cell Crisis. Common surgical diagnoses include Pancreatitis, Spinal Fusions, and Orthopedic total joints (Knees/Hips). Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with the possibility of increased ratios due to staffing. Support within the department includes CNAs, receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, dedicated pharmacists, case managers, and a nurse educator. Technology utilized includes EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and patient monitoring systems. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice, with travelers compensated for mid-shift travel. Unit culture emphasizes a welcoming environment with helpful teammates.
