Site Safety and Health Officer

Job Title: Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)

Location: Robstown, TX

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and promoting a proactive safety culture on mission-critical data center construction projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, client-specific safety requirements, and company policies while partnering with project teams and subcontractors to identify risks, prevent incidents, and maintain a safe, productive work environment. The Safety Manager serves as a trusted resource on-site, driving continuous improvement in safety performance throughout all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and enforce project-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs for mission-critical data center construction projects.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client-specific safety requirements.

Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

Lead daily pre-task planning meetings, toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.

Partner with project management, trade partners, and client representatives to maintain a proactive safety culture and ensure safe execution of all work activities.

Monitor high-risk work including energized work, crane operations, rigging, confined space entry, fall protection, and other critical construction activities.

Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety observations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Maintain accurate safety records, inspections, training documentation, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.

Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety performance and support project safety goals.

Requirements:

Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Corpus Christi, TX area.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.

Current CPR/First Aid certification required.

Minimum of 3+ years of construction safety experience, with experience on mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects preferred.

Experience working on data center construction projects is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety best practices, and subcontractor safety management.

Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with project teams, contractors, and client representatives.

Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.

Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or extended shifts, to support project schedules.
