- Staff AccountantMOLIN SIOUX FALLS - Sioux Falls, SD 57104Education Level4 Year Degree## DescriptionAccurately maintain the general ledger and ensure generally accepted accounting principles. Determining actual costs of manufacturing or providing a service, scrutinizing associated company expenses, and analyzing profitability.**Essential Functions**1. Cost Accounting for manufacturing environment.2. Inventory valuation and reporting.3. Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes. Maintain back up documentation for assigned accounts.4. Metrics Reporting.5. Accounting department special projects.6. Provide accruals as required for those expenses that are not available prior to Month/Year End according to GAAP.7. Continuously exploring opportunities to add value to the Accounting Department.## Qualifications**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Detail oriented* Knowledge of GAAP and Revenue Recognition Standard 606* Aptitude for working with numbers with high degree of accuracy* Excellent organizational skills* Proven ability to work with highly confidential Information* Strong verbal and written communication* Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook* Aptitude for technology and understanding of basic database structures* Positive team player* Problem solving and investigation skills* Work without supervision* Excellent customer service**Education, Training and Experience*** 4-year accounting degree plus 3 years’ experience in the field, preferred.* Cost accounting experience in a process production environment.* Experience with Sage 300CRE/Timberline strongly preferred* Experience designing and implementing efficient processes and systems* Accounting certification (CMA, CPA), or interest in obtaining certification strongly preferred but not required.* Valid Driver’s License**Work Context*** Frequent sitting for long periods* Occasional walking, standing and carrying* Frequent finger/wrist movement for keyboard use* Acuity for near vision required, distance acuity occasionally* Infrequent bend/twist, push/pull, reach, and grasp* Hearing for communication and safety* Office environment* Frequent talking and listening required* Infrequent exposure to dusty conditions and loud noises* Occasional travel by car* Direct Reports: None* Customers: + Internal: Accounting/Finance, HR, Payroll, Marketing/Sales, Shipping, Maintenance, Drafting, Engineering, Estimating, QC + External: General contractors, property owners, subcontractors## DISCLAIMER*The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees with this classification.
