About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (Must be AHA certified), NIHSS (Must be AHA certified) Must-Have: 2 years of experience 1 travel assignment No first-time travelers Description: This unit has a strict 75-mile radius for candidates based on the address on their driver's license. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required along with at least one travel assignment. First-time travelers are not considered. The unit has 44 beds with 40 staff members. Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:5, potentially 1:6 for both day and night shifts. The charting system is Meditech; experience is preferred but not required. CNA support is available with a typical ratio of 1:8 or 1:10. There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend and holidays as needed. Scrub color is Caribbean Blue. Floating may occur to all acute care areas and cardio for medical needs or for patient holds. General orientation is one week and includes training on the electronic medical record system. Floor-specific orientation lasts for two days. Housing options are available and have been reviewed for safety and cleanliness. A nearby hotel offers a discounted rate for travelers on contract. This location is part of a community with a population of about 80,000. It is located a few hours' drive from larger cities and various recreational areas.
