Overview Department: Outpatient Surgery Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Location: South Kansas City Surgical Center- Overland Park, KS NO WEEKENDS and NO ON-CALL!!! In this role, you will play a critical part in the operating room, supporting surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, maintaining precision, and delivering exceptional patient care. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced surgical setting. Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to): Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure proper sterilization of instruments Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-procedure Support patient positioning and surgical site preparation (draping) Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and OR team members to ensure efficient workflow Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014. Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years' experience (surgical setting preferred). Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (i.e., GYN, General, and Plastics) is preferred. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.) preferred. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
