DISPATCH LEAD (Operations Supervisor) - Range 16 / NON

Location: 3600 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Anchorage, AK. Hours: Monday & Friday: 2:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.; Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (hours may be adjusted as needed). Open to the general public and current Municipal employees. Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day transit operations activities under the supervision of the Transit PM Operations Superintendent. Provide logistical support for accidents, detours, and schedule adherence. Supervise dispatch specialist(s) and bus operators. Assign and manage bus operator work assignments, daily timecards, and schedule comparisons. Ensure accuracy of recorded activities in appropriate software and files. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus at least 8 years of transportation operations or logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, lead, or administrative capacity. Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Information Systems, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Planning, or a similar discipline, plus at least 6 years of transportation operations or logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, lead, or administrative capacity. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Information Systems, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Planning, or a similar discipline, plus at least 4 years of transportation operations or logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, lead, or administrative capacity. Required Skills & Certifications Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire. Satisfactory background check, including criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire. Satisfactory drug test at time of hire and periodic random drug and alcohol tests thereafter.
